the end is the beginning is the end

were you expecting something fancier

Sorry for the lame delay.  I’m lazy what can I say.  If this whole “awesome” project has taught me anything, it has doubly reinforced my love for procrastination and how I don’t like being forced to do things.  Hahaha..right.

So it’s over.  A whole year has passed since I started this beast.  I’m so glad it’s over.  I love my camera/s and photography and I’ve LEARNED more about cameras than I ever imagined to and it’s sparked a huge interest in photography for me.  But I am my worst subject.  I don’t really ever want to see my face again.  Ok so not really…but I’m really sick of myself.  I might just have to start a 52 weeks of my cats, cuz I could so get down with that.

So now that this over…I’m not sure what I’m gonna do.  I’m tempted to continue, but it’s too much of a commitment I think.  I haven’t decided.  I might just consolidate this and hoijokes and maybe have a weekly picture of something, if not of just me.  Who knows.  There’s so much to figure out.  But it’s been real and it’s been fun and honestly it hasn’t been real fun.

So now I kinda understand why Sterling wasn’t too upset when I dropped and somewhat broke my other camera.  Yea!  One more “week” to go.

Found this little gem at Wal*Mart.  People like to rag on Wally World, but you know, sometimes that store knows how to treat a girl right.

MT archives

Here’s a selfie from my MT trip.  This was our attempt to go to Glacier Park but as you can see, the weather was uncooperative.  I felt so robbed.  I guess next year I will be seeking revenge on you, GNP.  Just you wait.

I’ve been feeling so uninspired with this project.  Wait, was I ever?  Maybe 10 months ago, but now as the end nears instead of finishing BIG like one should, I’m ready to throw this in the can.  I took like a million pictures two weeks ago and now I don’t really ever want to turn on my camera again.  Maybe…Plus I do this project on the weekends (even though I retrodate back to the previous thursday) and the weather has been shit the last two weekends.  Hmmmmm

From Montana w/ Love

I got married once.

Yesterday was our three year anniversary.  Sadly…(I guess) Sterling is away in Montana right now, but it’s not a super big deal.  We’ve yet to hunker down and REALLY celebrate any of our anniversaries…dating or wedding.  We’re just like that.  And honestly, I KNOW this is cheesey but really it’s because every day is just as special as the next, as if EVERYDAY was an anniversary.  AWWW GUSH.

And I also know this is super cliche, but out wedding was, hands down, the funnest, most awesomeSTESTESTEST day ever.  And not just because we pledged our undying, eternal, leagally binding luv to each other but because it was the first time in a long time that all my family and friends gathered to celebrate a union instead of a departing.  It was really and truly like coming home.  I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.  Speaking of coming home….two more days!!!  Whoo hoo!

Happy Wediversary, Sterpie.

The cell phone comes in handy again.  In Germany a cell phone is called a “handy”.  Heh…makes sense.

…are hard to photograph.  Bruiser moved on me when I took this picture, and now his face is cut off all stupid.  Damn cat.  And I was too lazy to try again because he walked off and didn’t come back to visit me.

Gunpowder

july16

Sorry about the phone in–literally–taken with the phone, but I wanted to get a picture with this and we didn’t bring the camera.  So what’s behind me is, um I guess the foundation for a mill.  A gunpowder mill to be exact.  A couple days ago Sterling and I were taking a walk along this river trail in Windham/Gorham, and we decided to go explore a bit behind this dam.   We found this thing (behind me in the pic), and a bunch of really old stone and brick foundations, and this huge dry canal with little inlets every so often all along the “bottom”  of the river or other side of the dam.  We had no idea what it was, but thanks to my awesome detective skills I found that it was actually the site of a gunpowder mill from the early 1800′s.  It only operated until about 1905.  The canal next to it was used to float goods, like gunpowder  and timber down to Portland from Sebago Lake.  I guess back in its day the mill was a hopping place and was one of the countries largest producers of gunpowder for the Civil War.  There were lots of deaths on the job so the site is “suposed” to be haunted, but I’m more scared of the creepy crawly bugs I encountered than any old ghosts…that we didn’t run into.  I didn’t get any pictures of the canal, but I will later because it’s really cool to still see this large section of cleared out forest  and it’s suposedly one of the best intact pieces of the canal left.  Anyway…now you know.
